TCL Plans to Open 3G Facility in Chongqing, China

According to Sina, TCL will invest two billion RMB to establish a 3G R&D and production base in Chongqing, China. TCL wants this facility to be able to independently develop 3G handsets, and it plans to start production there in 2007, with a yearly production target of 200,000 units. The 3G technology used has not yet been identified.
